24th OUBS International Graduate Conference, 2022

In February 2022 the Oxford University Byzantine Society will host the 24th OUBS International Graduate Conferencein Oxford, with papers livestreamed online. Under the overarching theme ‘Reshaping the World: Utopias, Ideals and Aspirations in Late Antiquity and Byzantium’ this conference “seeks to explore the impact utopias, ideals and aspirations had in changing the course of history and, therefore, how imagined or alternative realities shaped the Late Antique and Byzantine world(s), broadly understood.”

This event not only highlights how other scholars and researchers across the globe are starting to explore similar ideas but also demonstrates that the Memories of Utopia project’s chief investigators were ahead of the curve.
